Last Friday we got some sad news. The breeders we had chosen had informed us that they were unable to breed successfully as their stud dog had been injured, and his replacement was too late. This meant, no Cosmo, at least not right away. We were faced with the decision: stay with these breeders and wait another 6 months, or find another breeder in the area with a litter due around the time we were prepared for. <div><br /></div><div>Our choice was to find a new breeder, Ryan and I have been waiting so long already and would really love to have our little guy for the summer... To train him, teach him and show him all the cools things we have here.. </div><div><br /></div><div>Today we went to meet a breeder we had found on the Internet. They are a very lovely couple with lovely kids, and amazing dogs! They let us meet all their dogs, even the ones that lived on the farm next door with the Grandparents. We met Bo and Mater, the first litter that is due, Bo is a beautiful light shade of silver and she is sweet as can be. Mater is a dark charcoal color that gives a nice blue-ish silver pup with his litters with Bo. They have been bred before, and appear to be a cute 'couple', playing and running in the yard together. </div><div><br /></div><div>We are very excited with this breeder, they seem to be very educated on the breed, and are very friendly, welcoming us back as many times as we like to visit the pups once they are born....which will be around the end of February! </div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8262944081214006675-3451369055680954454?l=lifewithcosmo.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>klucashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05223445319683425412noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8262944081214006675.post-59015010575824938922011-12-13T06:58:00.000-08:002011-12-13T07:56:17.340-08:00<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms;">So... Cosmo is the puppy Ryan and I are both anxiously awaiting. He's not born yet, the parents aren't even pregnant yet, but yes! we have a name picked out already! </span><br /><br /><span style="font-family: trebuchet ms;">Ryan and I have been wanting a dog for a while now, and one day I stumbled across an add on kijiji for 'Silver Labrador Retrievers'. I had never heard of 'silver' labs before and once I saw the pictures, I was hooked. I quickly forwarded to post on to Ryan and his response was "lets get one. now". After much discussion we decided to go take a look at the breeders current litter, and discuss putting a deposit on the next litter. Which we did, and now we are waiting for the news that there is a furry four legged bun in the oven!
